Look for the exact platform and operating system in the official store listing or download page. Similar device names can refer to different systems, so do not assume support across a phone, smart TV and TV box. Then consider the practical tasks you will use: adding a playlist, switching sources, searching, arranging favourites and reading programme data when the provider supplies it.

For audio, subtitles, catch-up or offline playback, verify the feature on the target platform. A feature listed for one app version or device does not prove it works everywhere.

If a feature is important, test it on the intended device and read the provider’s source requirements. This keeps the decision tied to your own setup rather than an unsupported universal “best player” claim.
